Hide provides a number of ways to hide parts of a plan.

Floors (all)

Hides all the floors in the project. Doesn't hide furniture or other things on floors - they may be left hanging in space.

 

To show again un-check or use View> Show All or Show Last Hidden.


Floors (all except current)

Shows everything on the current floor but hides everything on other floors, including  furniture, windows, doors and the floors.

 

Pressing pageUp and pageDown moves the work grid up or down - showing the current floor and contents and hide all the other floors and contents.

 

To show all the floors and other objects again, choose this again to un-check it or use View> Show All.


Roofs

Hides and shows all Roofs by choosing View> Hide> Roofs. Show Roofs by choosing Show All or Show Last Hidden from the View menu.

 

Keyboard Shortcut: R


Walls

Hides all walls.  

 

To show walls choose the menu again or use Show All or Show Last Hidden.


Fences and Posts

Hides everything created with Build>Draw Fences and Rails and Build>Draw Posts and Columns.

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden


Free Objects

Hides furniture, trees and other free objects in the project. Free objects means unattached objects.

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden


Cabinets and Other Connected Objects

This hides wall cabinets connected to walls, floors, roofs, etc. This does not hide windows and doors and other objects embedded in walls.

 

This does not hide base cabinets.

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden


Doors and Windows

This hides objects embedded in walls, floors, countertops and roofs - such as windows, doors, sinks, skylights and so on.  

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden


Molding

Hides molding applied to surfaces with Build>Draw Molding.  

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden


Sky

Hides the sky background - makes it solid blue.

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden


Light Boxes

Hides the black floating boxes representing spotlights in the project - as well as the yellow sun ball.

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden

 

Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+F


Compass

Hides the directional compass.

 

To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden


Menus and Controls

This hides the menu bar, toolbar, status bar and grid - to make the sign look more photo realistic. To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden

Grid

Hides the work grid. To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden

Dimensions

Hides all the dimensions in blueprint and elevation viewing modes.

Frame Rate (FPS)

Shows the frames per second (FPS) on the toolbar. This is sort of a like a speedometer for 3D rendering. When FPS gets below 4 or so, rendering is making such a demand on the computer that editing becomes less responsive.

 

Keyboard Toggle: F8

Orbit Crosshairs

Hides the orbit crosshairs you see, along with the north marker,  when you click down with the mouse button in orbit mode. To show again un-check menu, use Show All or Show Last Hidden

 

Turn these off as default under Edit>Preferences>General.
