  1. Is Everything Included? There Are No Other Costs?
    Correct. You pay once for all of plan3D's tools, functionality and benefits. There is nothing else to buy. Members get all the features listed below in one easy to use program:

    The download is less then 1.2 MB and takes less then two minutes to download - even with a slow Internet connection. You also get thousands of appliances, furniture and textures you download as needed. For example, a typical 90K sofa takes about two seconds to download.
  3. How Long Must I Wait Before I Can Use Plan3D?
    There is no wait. After you sign up you can download and use plan3D immediately.
     
  4. Can You Explain $2.95 a month versus $14.95 a month?
    When you buy a year's subscription for $35.40 that works out to only $2.95 a month - a substantial discount over the single monthly price of $14.95.
  5. Will You Charge My Card Again When It's Time to Renew?
    No. We will never charge your card automatically. We do not renew your account automatically - you must login and click the Renew button manually or your membership will expire at the end of its term. To protect your personal information we delete all credit card information from our servers immediately after you order.
  6. Can I View My Plans After My Membership Expires?
    Yes. When your subscription expires you can still open, view, edit, and print your files - you just can't save them. Renew at any time.
  7. Can I Subscribe in the UK, Canada, Australia, Europe and other Countries that Use Metric?
    Yes. When you order online the credit card company or Paypal will automatically covert your currency for the order just like the do when you use your credit overseas. Plan3D allows you to set measurement preferences to metric.

  10. Is Technical Support Free?
    Yes. You get free, unlimited technical support as part of your membership. We also have an online manual with animated tutorials and detailed step-by-step instructions.

    Yes. If you are not 100% satisfied with your plan3D subscription for any reason, email us within three days for a full refund of your purchase price. After three days you will be refunded your full purchase price minus the partial month or months you've used it at $15.95 per month.
  13. Is Plan3D a Downloadable Program or a Web Page?
    You can use either as an application you download and use like you do other software or a web-page plug-in you use a browser. Both versions are functionally the same.
     
  14. Can I Buy it On a CD?
    No. Plan3D is available by download only because the 3D furniture and textures you get take over six gigabytes (about 9 CD's worth.) By subscribing online you save time and money. By providing our 3D models and textures online you get immediate access to all the new models immediately after we put them in the directory.
  15. Can I Use Plan3D Without An Internet Connection?
    No you can't. You must be online to access furniture, textures, etc.
  16. Who Makes Plan3D?
    Plan3D is made by Plan3D, Incorporated in October, 2001 specifically to provide simple photo-realistic home design for homeowners and computer novices. We have been in the software business since 1977 and Internet related businesses since 1996.

    Yes. You can use any of the thousands of sofas, chairs, refrigerators, windows, doors, tables, trees, bushes, stairs, flooring, cabinets and other realistic 3D models. You also get free and immediate access to new objects as we add them. More
  18. Are Surface Textures Free?
    Yes. We provide thousands of fabrics, flooring, wall coverings and other textures at no cost which you can apply to any 3D surface in your plans. You may also use your own photos and other images from web site's or CD collections. You also get free access to all the new textures we put up every month.
  19. Are Upgrades Free?
    Yes. Upgrades are free. As part of your subscription you get free upgrades and free access to all new features and additions. When we add new 3D models and textures you get full access to them in the directory.
  20. Is Metric Supported?
    Yes. Set preferences to default to either metric or feet and inches.
  21. Is it Easy to Walk Around and View My Plans?
    Yes. Do walk-throughs and fly-throughs to view your project from any angle. Zoom in to any spot as close as you want. Orbit around any point using simple mouse clicks.
  22. Can I Share Plans With Contractors and Others?
    Plan3D members may distribute their plans and our free viewer to architects, contractors, interior designers, landscapers, friends and associates so they can look at them. You can talk to them on the phone while looking at plans together. Decide on paint colors, furniture, wallpaper, fabrics and other things together. You can also print your plans with dimensions to share with others.
  23. What If I'm New To Computers - Can I Learn It Quickly?
    Yes. Plan3D was designed to be easy for homeowners and computer novices. If you know how to use the Internet you can use plan3D.
  24. Is it Really as Realistic As You Make it Look?
    Yes. In our opinion plan3D is the most realistic, real-time 3D home design tool on the market today. You see exactly what you're going to get while you're working - not wait for ten minutes to "render" a view like other programs. Plan3D lets you apply shadows, reflections and colors on-the-fly in a way that was not previously affordable. This realism makes home design fun for regular folks. It is so simple that it's taught in elementary school.

    Yes you can. Import and trace your floor plans to see exactly how they'll look in real life 3D. Do walk throughs and fly throughs of your new home in three dimensions. See how your kitchen, living room, bedrooms, exteriors and landscaping will look. Easily change you plans and show your contractor what you want. Save thousands of dollars by seeing your plan in advance. Sometimes it's impossible to change things if you wait.
  26. Can I Print Any View from Any Angle?
    Yes. Print any view in realistic 3D and also blueprint and elevation views with detailed dimensions you can share with contractors, interior designers and government permit agencies. Note: plan3D will not print to a XY plotters at this time. You are limited to laser and inkjet printers and whatever paper sizes they support.
  27. Can I Use Plan3D on My Home and Work Computers?
    Yes. You may download and use plan3D on your home and work computers. However, you may not give copies of plan3D to others.
  28. Can I Change the Size of Furniture and Other Things?
    Yes. You can change the size of furniture, doors, windows, walls and other 3D models by right-clicking them and changing the dimensions. You can scale, move and rotate textures on surfaces.
  29. Where Are My Project Files Saved?
    All your files and projects are saved on your computer the same way you save files from your other programs. Nothing is saved to our servers. We have no access to your project files. You can send files to your friends and associates for viewing with our free viewer.
  30. Do I Own the Copyright to My Plans?
    Yes. absolutely. Anything you design is yours and may be shared with anyone you want. Of course, you cannot distribute your password to others. We provide a free viewer you can give them to view your plans for this purpose.

  32. Can I Create As Many Projects As I Want?
    Yes. Members may create and save as many project files as they desire - there is no limit imposed. Email projects to others - or send then snapshots of any screen views. Save files in 3D format or save them as photo-realistic views you can edit in Photoshop and other programs.
  33. Does It Work on Older Computers?
    Not very well. Plan3D is a modern, real-time 3D program that requires a relatively modern computer less than five years old. You need at least 1,000 Mhz, WindowsXP, 2000, 98 or ME, 256MB of memory and a 3D video card. Minimum System Requirements
  34. Ok. What's the Catch?
    Well, Plan3D is not for Architects or engineers - nor is priced as such. It was created as an easy home design tool for homeowners - freeing them from the drudgery of learning complex CAD software. Plan3D is a design tool that helps you visualize your home and business plans in lifelike 3D easily. As a result, it doesn't burden you with complex (and unecessary) plumbing pipe tables, load bearing wall analysis, structural schematics or electrical wiring diagrams. It just lets you design your projects quickly and easily.
     
    Plan3D does not print to expensive CAD XY Plotters or blueprint machines - only to regular computer inkjet and laser printers. Plan3D will do logs for log cabins but this is more complex then the rest of the program. Dome roofs are not supported although people use our dome shapes to simulate this.
     
    Plan3D does not check for permit code violations or analyse load bearing walls - nor does it integrate with CAD software used by your architect. Keep in mind however that architects, builders and other designers can see exactly what you want when you share your plan3D files with them.
     
    Another catch is that Plan3D doesn't run well on old computers. It works best on computers less than five years old with 256MB memory and a 3D video card. Minimum System Requirements
